Chairman and Chief Executive Officer - Robert M. Calderoni
Robert M. Calderoni is chairman and chief executive officer of Ariba, Inc., the leading provider of collaborative business commerce solutions. Since joining the company in 2000, Mr. Calderoni has successfully transformed Ariba from a narrowly focused e-procurement vendor to a comprehensive business commerce solutions provider that companies of all sizes rely on to transform the way they collaboratively buy, manage cash, and sell.
Under Mr. Calderoni's leadership, Ariba led the way in developing and delivering innovative solutions that combine technology, commodity expertise, and services to help companies streamline the procurement process and drive bottom-line results. As the creator and leader of spend management, Ariba moved procurement from a back office function to a strategic business imperative that drives savings, operational excellence, and business improvements.
In early 2004, Mr. Calderoni led an aggressive acquisition strategy that significantly expanded Ariba's technology offerings and service capabilities, and positioned the company as a recognized leader in its market. Under Mr. Calderoni's leadership, Ariba has secured the top Fortune 10 companies and Global 500 companies as customers. Ariba has been named to the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 and the Manufacturing Business Technology Global 100, and is routinely identified as a top vendor by independent research firms.
With more than 20 years of experience as a Fortune 500 financial and operations executive, Mr. Calderoni has intimate knowledge of change management and a deep understanding of how technology can optimize a corporation's spending practices. Prior to joining Ariba, Mr. Calderoni served as senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Avery Dennison. Before joining Avery Dennison, Mr. Calderoni served as senior vice president of finance and corporate controller for Apple Computer, Inc., and as chief financial officer and vice president of finance for IBM's $8 billion Storage Systems division. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Company. In 2006, Mr. Calderoni was named among the 100 Most Influential People in Finance by Treasury & Risk Management Magazine.
Mr. Calderoni is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor of science degree from Fordham University. He is also a member of the Board of Juniper Networks and the School of Business Advisory Council of Villanova University.
President - Kevin Costello
Kevin Costello is president of Ariba, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for directing all of Ariba's integrated global sales, marketing, services, and channel organizations. In addition to leading the global sales teams focused on multi-national, enterprise and middle market customers, Mr. Costello oversees the Ariba Solutions Delivery team, which is tasked with the development and delivery of the services and consulting offerings for Ariba collaborative business commerce solutions. He directs Ariba's consulting and channel/alliance partner program to enable Ariba's customers to create and sustain enterprise-wide capabilities in selecting, negotiating, procuring, settling, and deploying goods and services. Mr. Costello brings 20 years of consulting experience in helping companies improve their competitive position through the use of the latest market strategies and technologies.
Prior to Ariba, Mr. Costello held a number of senior management positions with Andersen Business Consulting. He was the global managing partner of Andersen's Market Solutions Team, where he was responsible for the supply chain, customer and channel, and technology integration services practice areas. He was also the global managing partner of Andersen Business Consulting's strategic business relationships.
Mr. Costello holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois.
Chief Financial Officer - Ahmed Rubaie
Ahmed Rubaie is chief financial officer of Ariba, Inc. In this role, Mr. Rubaie is responsible for all of the company's finance functions, including financial planning, accounting, treasury, taxation, investor relations, and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he also oversees Ariba's information technology departments, facilities, and real estate.
A seasoned financial executive with more than a decade of global experience, Mr. Rubaie joins Ariba from Avery Dennison where he served as vice president of finance for the company's Retail Information Services Group, and previously as corporate vice president of Internal Audit and Tax.
Prior to Avery Dennison, Mr. Rubaie held key finance positions at BHP Billiton, including his last position as vice president, commercial for the company's Global Diamonds and Industrial Minerals division and various tax counsel roles. Mr. Rubaie began his career in public accounting with both Coopers & Lybrand and Deloitte & Touche.
Mr. Rubaie holds a BA in economics and management from Michigan's Albion College, and a JD from the University of Detroit School of Law.
Chief Operating Officer - Kent Parker
Kent Parker is chief operating officer of Ariba, Inc. In this role, he has overall global responsibility for all operational groups of the company, including engineering, hosting operations, product/solutions management, customer service and support, sourcing services, and category knowledge services organizations.
Mr. Parker brings more than 20 years of experience in business leadership and supply chain management to Ariba. Prior to Ariba, Mr. Parker held numerous positions, including senior vice president of Global Sourcing Services at FreeMarkets, Inc., a publicly traded supply management services and software company. Prior to FreeMarkets, Mr. Parker helped build and grow Caribou Coffee Company, a national retail chain with more than 400 company-owned stores throughout the United States, where he served as vice president, reporting to the CEO/founder. At Caribou Coffee, Mr. Parker was responsible for the company’s coffee program, manufacturing, supply chain management, distribution, and commercial business groups. Prior to Caribou Coffee, Mr. Parker spent nearly a decade in the automotive industry at Textron Inc., a global Fortune 200 company, holding numerous leadership and management positions in engineering, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, procurement, program management, and sales. Prior to Textron, Mr. Parker was employed at United Technologies Carrier Corporation, working as a development engineer in the residential heating systems division.
Mr. Parker holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Evansville, and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College.
Chief Technology Officer - Bhaskar Himatsingka
Bhaskar Himatsingka is chief technology officer of Ariba, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for Ariba's technical strategy and overall product architecture. Since joining Ariba in 2001, Mr. Himatsingka has been integral to the development and expansion of the company's product portfolio. He has contributed key components to Ariba's platform integration layer, led the initial development of the company's ground-breaking Ariba category management solution, and spearheaded efforts to drive integration across its spend management suite. As architect, he helped drive the successful development and deployment of the on-demand offerings of the company's entire product line.
Prior to joining Ariba, Mr. Himatsingka worked as a consulting software engineer for Asera, Inc., a pioneer in the development of e-commerce infrastructure to enable the real-time enterprise. Previously, Mr. Himatsingka was a principal software engineer at Oracle Corp., where he served as team lead for the RDBMS data management team and earned several patents.
Mr. Himatsingka holds a bachelor of technology, computer science, and engineering degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur; and a master of science in computer science from University of Minnesota.
Chief Marketing Officer - Tim Minahan
Tim Minahan is chief marketing officer for Ariba, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for the design and execution of the company's global marketing programs, including branding, corporate communications, marketing communications, product marketing, web marketing, sales training and development, sales support, demand generation, and analyst relations.
Mr. Minahan joined Ariba from Procuri, Inc., where he served as senior vice president of marketing and worked closely with the executive leadership team in shaping the strategic direction of the company's growth. With a focus on supporting sales, Mr. Minahan was responsible for raising the visibility of Procuri, assisting with product strategy; articulating the value proposition of the company and its solutions; and devising and executing new company initiatives.
Mr. Minahan is a widely recognized expert on supply chain management and technology issues. Prior to joining Procuri, Mr. Minahan served as chief services officer at Aberdeen Group, where he advised the world's largest supply chain and technology companies. During his tenure, he helped build Aberdeen's supply chain research practice into one of the most influential among the top industry analyst firms. As Aberdeen's chief services officer, he defined the firm's research focus and methodologies, drove corporate branding initiatives, and reengineered the company's business model. Mr. Minahan began his career researching and writing on purchasing and technology issues, serving as senior editor of supply chain management for Purchasing Magazine, editor for Electronics Purchasing, and technology reporter for Government Computer News.
Mr. Minahan is a member of the International Association of Contract and Commercial Management's (IACCM) Thought Leadership Council. He has thrice been named one of the industry's Pros to Know by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine. He has also received the Top Industry Influencers Award from Supply Chain Technology News.
Mr. Minahan holds a bachelor's degree from Boston College.
Vice President & General Manager, Ariba Europe - Michael J. Arenth
Michael J. Arenth serves as vice president and general manager of Ariba's European operations. In this role, he oversees sales and marketing, consulting, human resources, finance, and accounting.
Mr. Arenth previously served as vice president of consulting for Ariba Europe. Prior to his 2005 move to Europe, he was managing director of Ariba's strategy team in North America. Before joining Ariba, Mr. Arenth was a senior manager with Andersen Business Consulting, where he advised firms across a variety of industries on strategy, operations, and finance transformation initiatives.
Mr. Arenth earned a BA in economics from The Johns Hopkins University and an MBA in finance from The George Washington School of Business and Public Management.
Senior Vice President and General Manager, Ariba North America and Asia - Daryl T. Rolley
Daryl Rolley currently serves as senior vice president and general manager of Ariba's North American and Asian operations. In this role, he oversees the company's business management, strategy, sales, marketing, and professional services for these regions.
Mr. Rolley brings more than 15 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain management, and business leadership to Ariba. Prior to Ariba, Mr. Rolley held numerous positions including senior vice president of international operations at FreeMarkets, Inc., a publicly traded supply management services and software company. Prior to FreeMarkets, Mr. Rolley was vice president, business development at Ventro Corporation. From 1996 through 2000, Mr. Rolley was an executive with McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm. There, he advised firms on strategy, operations, and post-merger management across a range of industries including, chemicals, pulp and paper, and metals in North and South America. Prior to McKinsey, Mr. Rolley held manufacturing management and engineering positions in the chemical industry and finance positions at GE Capital.
Mr. Rolley earned a degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and an MBA in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Ariba Network Business Unit - Bob Solomon
Bob Solomon is senior vice president and general manager of the Ariba Network Business Unit. In this role, he is responsible for the company's initiatives to expand network-based products and services to both buyers and suppliers.
Prior to joining Ariba, Mr. Solomon served as senior vice president of corporate services at Silliker Laboratories Group, Inc, the global leader in food safety testing and consulting. In this capacity, he was responsible for corporate marketing, sales, information technology, and human resources. Mr. Solomon also served as vice president of sales and marketing for the Food Ingredients Division of The NutraSweet Company, a division of Monsanto Corporation. Additionally, he was an associate consultant with the Boston Consulting Group.
Mr. Solomon received his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and graduated from Princeton University with an AB in economics.
Senior Vice President, Solutions Management - Greg Spray
Gregory Spray is senior vice president of solutions management. In this role, he is responsible for the company's solutions strategy, roadmap, and plan.
Before joining Ariba, Mr. Spray served as a partner at Accenture, the global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company. During his time there, he was responsible for procurement business process outsourcing (BPO) services, offering strategy and managing a global team of sales architects. Mr. Spray also served as chief executive officer of procurement services provider Alliente, a business he successfully built and grew, and which was sold in 2004 to Ariba.
Prior to Alliente, Mr. Spray worked for Hewlett-Packard Company in a variety of senior management roles including procurement, financial shared services, and information technology.
Mr. Spray received his BBA in information systems and quantitative analysis from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Human Resources - Matthew Zack
Matthew Zack is senior vice president, corporate development and human resources of Ariba, Inc. In this capacity, Mr. Zack is responsible for developing and executing Ariba's merger and acquisition strategy. In addition, Mr. Zack has responsibility for Ariba's global human resources function. In this role, Mr. Zack oversees the talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and compliance, and payroll and stock administration functions. Mr. Zack also serves as the management liaison to the compensation committee of the board of directors.
Before joining Ariba, Mr. Zack was responsible for corporate development at FreeMarkets, Inc., a publicly traded supply management services and software company. Prior to FreeMarkets, Mr. Zack served in various consulting roles at Accenture. During this time, he led several supply chain design and implementation initiatives with diversified manufacturing clients.
Mr. Zack holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
