A Faster, Easier Way to Turn Your Receivables into Cash
The continuing credit crunch can make it tougher—and more expensive—to maintain steady cash flow. Yet Ariba Receivables Financing offers a great way to sidestep the stringent terms and high interest of traditional financing resources by letting you turn receivables into cash at highly competitive market rates. And now it's better than ever, since the solution—delivered through Ariba ecosystem partner The Receivables Exchange—has been integrated with the Ariba& Supplier Network™.What Advantages Does the New Integration Provide?
Key advantages of integration include:
- Lower costs of capital. You can now upload buyer-approved invoices directly from the Ariba Network to the website for The Receivables Exchange in a secure, unbroken chain. This prevents any unauthorized changes by customers or other third parties which can occur with paper, fax, or emailed invoices. By increasing security and helping to ensure that receivables are from high-quality buyers, the integration can drive your costs of capital lower—generating greater savings for you.
- Faster, easier navigation. Rather than having to go to the Exchange website to manage auctions of your receivables, you can handle the process quickly and easily right from supplier.ariba.com. Submitting invoices for bid, setting auction parameters, tracking auction status, obtaining historical data, and other tasks can be done in just a few clicks.
Ariba Receivables Financing offers multiple benefits over other financing options, including:
- Greater control. Rather than having to rely on lending institutions or your customers to help you access cash, Ariba Receivables Financing lets you initiate and execute the entire process yourself. You choose the receivables you wish to submit for auction—posting one or more invoices depending on your current cash flow needs—and capital providers then bid on those receivables at competitive rates. You also control all the terms, including the length of the auction and the maximum discount you're willing to pay.
- Faster access to cash. You can start submitting your receivables for auction the moment you're approved—typically just a few days after sign-up—and the average auction length is only one day. Once auctions are finished, you can receive your funds in as little as 24 hours.
- Lower rates. Using Ariba Receivables Financing gives you access to multiple liquidity providers who wish to purchase your receivables, driving your rates down through a competitive bidding process.
- Less risk. Ariba Receivables Financing gives you a dependable cash flow option that doesn't depend on the ups and downs of the economy, reducing your risk by connecting you with many providers in a single online marketplace.

How Does Ariba Receivables Financing Work?
Functionality for Ariba Receivables Financing is available from your Ariba Network home page. Under "Early Payment Terms" in the left-hand column you'll now see an option that says "Receivable Sales." You'll also see an "Eligible for Auction" column at the far right of the "Early Payments" box. You can use either of these to choose and submit invoices for auction.
You can also access Ariba Receivables Financing through your inbox, where the "Early Payments" tab is now named "Early Payments and Auctions." Clicking on that will show you a list of all the invoices that have been approved by your customers for payment and are now eligible for auction. You can use the "Cash Optimizer" option to help you choose the best invoices for auction and/or early payment discounts to cover your cash flow needs, or simply click the "Select for Auction" button at the bottom of the page to pick out and upload specific receivables for bidding. You can keep track of all the invoices you’ve decided to auction by clicking on the "Sent to Auction" tab.
A separate "Available Invoices" page on the application for The Receivables Exchange allows you to review all the invoices you've chosen for auction and set the parameters for each—including the minimum acceptable bid, duration of the auction, and buyout terms—before you submit them. An Exchange representative then reviews your submissions to help you get set up and begin selling as quickly as possible.
Under the "Auctions" tab you can check the status of current auctions and see historical information on past auctions. Once auctions are complete, the funds are wired directly to your bank, usually within 24 hours.
Note that you can also manually upload non-Ariba invoices to the Exchange website and submit those for auction as well.
